What interests Dan?

In general, I am interested in solutions to beef production system questions. I am specifically interested in any question that has “beef” or “beef cattle” in it.

Cattle Types

  • I have a lot of experience with traditional, “native”, beef cattle breeds.

  • I also have much experience with beef production from Holstein steers, and have an interest in beef production from culled dairy cows.

  • The beef-on-dairy production system is a natural blending of the native and Holstein production systems, for which my background is well-suited.

Which stages of production?

Cow-calf, Stocker, Finishing or Feedlot, Harvest, Carcass Composition, and Fresh Beef Merchandising
